Cone- 110 Degree, 20 cm, tape the top with duck tape

Cut a string tape it on the cone and tape it on the payload ( the side with the mini-fins)
Find out how the parachute is folded
Hot glue the payload (the side without the minifins) onto the main rocket body
Glue the payload stryofoam onto the body, inside the payload

Water Rocket

Challenge brief: Make a water rocket from a soda bottle, which can stay in the air for more than 10 seconds, returning to earth on a parachute!

Quantitative Investigation: Do a video analysis of the motion of either the rocket going up or a parachute test of the rocket coming down. Estimate and explain how acceleration changes with time.

Water Rocket Criteria

4

A parachute is deployed from the rocket after it is at least 10 meters high. The rocket descends such that the total flight time is more than 10 seconds.

3

A parachute is deployed from the rocket. The rocket descends such that the total flight time is more than 5 seconds.

2

The rocket has a parachute although it may not completely open. The rocket is able to exceed a height of 10 meters.

1

The rocket can reach a height of at least 10 meters.
